Those bigots aren’t against the concept of chain migration so long as those immigrants are NOT from black/brown countries. Immigrants do not migrate to countries in turmoil, they try and move to a better place and bring their families to live with them and they tend to be perceived as a threat by the native population.

The merit of a man is shown in what he does with power.

Few can muster a competent line of reasoning to explain why immigrants should not be allowed into this country. We have room for them, food for them, and their presence creates demand which creates jobs (which they also fill). The larger population size attracts businesses to locate here (at least with warehouses and distribution centers), and it increases our potential in the areas of science and other important fields (because we have a larger percentage of the world’s people; statistically we will get a larger hard number of brilliant minds born to us). Not all come in broke; they might bring savings, which become part of our net worth as a collective (though some goes back out again; but that’s an imports/exports conversation).

The truth is that some people don’t like the world around them to change. They don’t like that neighbors moved in, and like it less that they can’t relate to these “Mexicans or where ever they are from” that speak another language (at least primarily) and listen to different music. They see that their earnings has increased more slowly that the standard of living for the last 30+ years now, and they see that these Mexicans are doing better than when they first came (because there’s a tradition of really helping each other out in that culture that we lack here; extended families will work together to buy each immediately family a home and land one at a time, which saves a TON of money). They think what was once their money is going into the pockets of their Mexican neighbors, and resent them. It’s racism only because that’s the identifier they linked. A lot of Republicans despise Liberals due to the same sort of thinking; they see that Liberal states are well off, and think we must be taking their money. A lot of men despise women’s equality for that reason; they blame the doubled work force for low wages and weak/disbanded work unions.

It’s all poison from the same well — being mad because you feel robbed, but you don’t know who did it.

People should not be given American citizenship if at least 50% of all of their ancestors 10 generations back were not born in the US. They should be sent back where the majority of their ancestors were born.

maybe not 10, but something related to the original settlers. I’m sure we can find a way to identify the true Americans and get rid of parasites like Trump, legally.

The US tax payer coughs up $140 billion/yr on illegal immigration. 1/5 of all prisoners in Federal prison are illegals. 2,430 illegal immigrants have been convicted of murder are in jails in California. That is $24K/yr per prisoner. FACT.
The truth is that the Democrats desperately covet the votes illegal immigration and chain migration brings to them. Make no mistake, this is all about the future Democratic vote and changing the electoral college for future elections. FACT

If you’ll notice, they are allowing children to be included in new chain migration legislation, but not parents. The objective here is to punish the parents of the DACA kids by not allowing them to become citizens.

Isn’t it better to keep the money earned in the US here in this country rather be sent to other countries to support family members?

  31. Da Mama
    January 23, 2018 @ 12:27 am

Who ever repopulates America needs to come here legally and be able to enrich our society. The flood of illegals who came here are the dregs of their countries. The law needs to apply to illegal immigrants and citizens equally and that is not currently the case. The US doesn’t need to be open, it needs to be selective in who comes here. 12 and 13 yo illegal immigrant girls get pregnant to defraud the welfare system. Birthright citizenship to children of illegal immigrants must stop as well. Why would any country want to welcome people like that?

  32. Da Mama
    January 23, 2018 @ 12:38 am

“You helped them fill out the paperwork…” Sounds like they came here legally. The complaint is all of them coming here illegally and having nothing to offer our society. Society has changed since Mr. Trump’s grand parents came here. Today people come to be career drug dealers, etc. In the 1800’s ads were placed in foreign newspapers to invite immigrants in to populate the country with homesteads or jobs building projects like the railroad or Hoover Dam. The dynamics have changed and the same immigration principles cannot apply. Additionally there were not 11-80 million ILLEGAL immigrants coming into the country. Welfare was certainly not available for illegal immigrants.
