Trump is such a wrecking ball that he could be impeached or indicted not for one or two things, but for dozens of things. I’m quite serious. He has literally no control over himself. He has no regard for the law whatsoever. The only efforts he makes at all, with regard to legality or illegality, are public denouncements and ridiculous victimhood.
The Republican Party stands there silent. It’s incredible. He’s going to be dragged out in chains, with his party and supporters pretending they never knew a thing.
This is just fantastic. I can’t believe it. In the United States.

+Ingrid Dubbel No it isn’t. Not formally. Not in law. An impeachment is an action to authorize hearings of evidence that the president might be deserving of removal from office. An indictment is a formal charge, with evidence presupposing it.
      Mind your manners.

Where is Lindsey Graham, and Mitch “the turtle” McConnell on all of this? Why aren’t they leading the charge to get to the bottom of the grotesque amount of nepotism, grifting, and corruption that is going on in the white house? Maybe Graham and McConnell are waiting for Trump to wear a tan suit before they become outraged.

*Mike Pence Once Argued Clinton Should Be Impeached For Lying About Infidelity, Now Silent On Trump’s Affairs.* The articles calling for Clinton’s impeachment were written by Pence in the late 1990s and were published in several newspapers in his home state of Indiana. *He used to document them all on the website for his old radio show.*

Pence wrote that a president needed to be held to a higher moral standard that “our next door neighbor, dismissing the idea that the president is “just like the rest of us.”

Seriously, the very idea that we ought to have at or less than the same moral demands placed on the Chief Executive that we place on our next door neighbor is ludicrous and dangerous’
      *- Mike Pence*

*These Old Mike Pence Columns On How A President Should Behave Have Not Aged Well*

“If you and I fall into bad moral habits, we can harm our families, our employers and our friends. The President of the United States can incinerate the planet.”

*Long before Mike Pence was Donald Trump’s rumored vice presidential pick, he was writing a series of strange columns for his personal website.*

The 1990s archive of MikePence.com bears all the signs of an ancient internet relic. None of the elements align quite properly. There are buttons showing blue text casting a red shadow. The left-hand navigation bar is in comic sans, and has a double-red strip running through it, making it almost unreadable.

*Mike Pence Once Wrote a Scathing Review of ‘Mulan’ Saying Women Shouldn’t Be in the Military*

David J they can’t call out things in which I’m sure they are also compromised by !! Only one reason to have lost all moral grounding and that’s Russian compromat and money ! Trump probably shared around just enough so that he made sure people wouldn’t call him out on things

Blatant Abuse of Power, Blatant Abuse of the Courts. This reminds me of the “Minority Report”. Court cost are not free, but should be fully reimbursed if nothing is found and a penalty on the lawyers of frivolous lawsuits.

It is VERY SIMPLE. If Mrs Clinton would have won, would there be such activities in this Trump Hotel. Check the books, what happened during the Obama presidency………LOL

      March 19, 2019 @ 7:49 pm

dutchpy dutchpy no, if Clinton won, nobody would have gone to trump’s hotel and paid for rooms that were never used… nothing like this happened with Obama either because Obama is not a criminal, trump’s a dam criminal!!!

Unfortunately emoluments and bribery are in Congresses court not civil court. He is doing both with his hotels and Miralargo and they could censure him as a warning then impeach him. Of course the Senate will do neither, so Trump wins.

  6. B Storm
    March 19, 2019 @ 7:36 pm

Why does ‘injury’ even come into play here? He is financially benefiting from the hotel and that is against the emoluments clause.

    • Craig Crawford
      March 19, 2019 @ 7:59 pm

“Injury” is a legal term for any kind of damages be it material, monetary or physical. Thus, the other hotels are suffering injury do to Trump’s crimes…

    • Tessmage Tessera
      March 19, 2019 @ 8:13 pm

The reason it comes into play is because someone needs to be the plaintiff in this case.

When the President of the United States violates the U.S. Constitution, does it really need to be shown that someone is “being hurt?”

    • Craig Crawford
      March 19, 2019 @ 8:02 pm

Even when a person admits 100 percent to a crime the state and or government still must show corroborating evidence…

    • cuekwe Jones
      March 19, 2019 @ 8:05 pm

+RDR This was sort of my point — the Constitution was designed, in part, to protect citizens _from being hurt._ When elected, the POTUS is expected to divest him/herself from all personal business interests precisely so that the question of impropriety (e.g., bribery, extortion, etc.) _never arises to begin with._

    • Sean Murphy
      March 19, 2019 @ 8:08 pm

That’s what they were talking about in this clip. The judges in this case are saying that you can only bring legal action against another party if they have harmed you. The answer is that there needs to be a Federal investigation into his matter in order to bring this to court as the victim in this case is the Constitution.

    • Craig Crawford
      March 19, 2019 @ 8:11 pm

+Sean Murphy Yes, they investigate to either confirm or deny any and all evidence to bring a case…

Can I get a legal opinion here.
Why are the emolument clauses being handled seemingly as a matter of tort? Can’t it just be argued that Trump is profiting from office without there having to be an injured party with standing?

    • Amen Knowtech
      March 19, 2019 @ 8:06 pm

there actually is an injured party here in reality…..taxpayers…..he is using our tax dollar on our time for private profits….that should be a prison worthy offense.

    • Impromptu
      March 19, 2019 @ 8:16 pm

+Amen Knowtech Certainly. I was just trying to think purely legally. Is abuse of publicly vested power strictly defined as a tort against the public? Does breach of the oath of office constitute breach of a contract with the public? Both? Either?
